I have become more and more interested in background concepts and speed painting lately, it's become my main interest after 2d animation. May this (hopefully) be the beginning of many more color concept studies I do from now on!

Latest news come as "Era uma vez... para o Luís"

It was refreshing to work on the personal project "Era uma vez... para o Luís" by Vasco Palma Nogueira, author of the book. He specially wrote and dedicated this story to his son Luís. I enjoyed working on it and developing my illustration skills as much as engaging on a group work with a family I have become friends with. Thank you, Verena and Vasco, for the opportunity and trust on such a precious project as this one.

New Book! - "Se Eu Fosse Um Animal"

The new book "Se Eu Fosse Um Animal" (If I Were An Animal) by Editorial Presença comes out today, 20th March 2012! Written by Sara Rebello da Silva and fully illustrated by me, it's a fun colourful book for all 5, 6 and 7 year old's. :)

For my dear teacher and friend Armando Coelho, from whom I learned so much.

Painted over a sketch, just like most of my illustrations. I don't usually draw directly on to the computer, I like paper.

I have been trying out all sorts of different styles of drawing and painting lately. Right now I want to develop a little bit more my sense of colour and contrast in painting, something I have never dedicated to as much as drawing. So you'll probably see a big diversity on my work over the next few days.
